In November 2019, the City of Surrey launched a new Online Registration System. This Online Registration System is what hundreds of thousands of residents use to register for recreation programs in surrey.
The new system required widgets be used instead of links.
My Role
I helped identify the strategy for the placement of the Online Registration System Widgets on surrey.ca. I worked with members of the Recreation team, a Developer, User Experience Designer, and Content Authors across the City.
Results
- Created a criteria for what qualifies for a widget and widget types
- Streamlined some pages because of new capabilities of tool, making it easier for users to find information
- Clearly communicated updates to content authors affected
